About Rick
Rick Smith has been actively involved in real estate marketing on the Monterey Peninsula since 1982, and has been a licensed real estate broker since 1985. Early in his real estate career he specialized in the sale and acquisition of large acreage properties located from South Santa Clara County to Southern Monterey County inclusive of San Benito County and the Big Sur Coast.
Rick has listed and or sold some of the Monterey Peninsula's most historic properties, including the late Stuyvesant Fish's Palo Corona Ranch, The Holman Ranch, Rocky Creek Ranch on the Big Sur Coast, and a full spectrum of homes and home sites.
Rick is a graduate of California State University. Dominguez Hills, majoring in Medical Technology.
Rick initially moved into the Big Sur coastal area of Palo Colorado Canyon after relocating from Hermosa Beach, then moved to the Carmel Valley area for 25 years. He now works and resides in the Carmel area and has first hand knowledge of the entire peninsula.
Rick's community participation includes serving as a Carmel Valley Little League Coach & Director and YMCA Youth Basketball Coach. He was President Elect of the Carmel Association of Realtors prior to its merger in 1995. He was also President of the Monterey Carmel Council of Real Estate Boards and Chairman of the Local Government Relations Committee and was a Director in the Carmel Valley Property Owners Association. Currently serving as an alternate on the Refinement Group. A broad based citizens group making comment on the county's updated general plan process.
